Connect ChatGPT or Claude to your family calendar

Quok speaks MCP (Model Context Protocol), the open standard AI apps use to work with your tools. Connect an app once, and it can help with your family calendar, tasks, shopping, and lists.

AI app connections are part of Quok Plus. The AI app may also require a paid plan or workspace permission to add a custom MCP connection.

Get the Quok server address

Open Connect your AI in Quok. You can also open Preferences → Connect an AI app in the web app.
Under Connect in one minute, choose Copy address.
Paste the address into your AI app when it asks for a server address, MCP server, or connector URL.

The address ends in /mcp. Copy it from Quok to avoid a missing path, an extra slash, or a typing mistake.

Connect Claude

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
Choose Add custom connector, name it Quok, and paste the Quok server address.
Add the connector, then choose Connect.
Sign in to Quok in the browser window. Review the app name, your family, and the access it requests, then choose Allow access.

Connect ChatGPT

ChatGPT manages custom MCP connections as apps. Availability, write access, and who can create an app depend on your ChatGPT plan and workspace role. Check OpenAI’s developer mode guide for the current requirements.

In ChatGPT on the web, open Settings → Apps → Advanced Settings and turn on Developer mode if your plan offers it.
From your user or workspace Apps settings, choose Create.
Name the app Quok, paste the Quok server address, and select OAuth authentication.
When ChatGPT scans the available tools, sign in to Quok. Review the request and choose Allow access.
Finish creating the app, then enable Quok from the apps menu in a new chat.

Connect Claude Code

Run this command once in your terminal:

claude mcp add --transport http quok https://api.getquok.com/mcp

Claude Code opens a browser when it needs to authenticate. Sign in to Quok, review the request, and choose Allow access. You can inspect or reconnect the server later with /mcp. See the Claude Code MCP guide from Anthropic for more client commands.

Connect Cursor

Add Quok as a remote MCP server in Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, using the server address https://api.getquok.com/mcp over HTTP.

Cursor opens a browser the first time it needs access. Sign in to Quok, review the request, and choose Allow access. Cursor then loads the Quok tools. No client ID or secret is needed.

Connect another MCP app

If the app supports automatic OAuth registration, paste the Quok server address and follow its sign-in prompt. Quok publishes the discovery information the app needs.

Some apps ask for a client ID and client secret instead. An organizer or adult can create those OAuth credentials in Quok:

Open Preferences → Connect an AI app → Connect your own app.
Enter an app name and select Custom callback URL.
Copy the exact callback URL from the app into Quok, then choose Create credentials.
Copy the server address, client ID, and client secret into the app. Quok shows the secret only once.
Continue from the app. When it sends you back to Quok, sign in and choose Allow access.

Check the connection

Ask the assistant, “What’s on our family calendar this week?” Then try a small change, such as “Add milk to the shopping list.” If it can read and update Quok, the connection is ready.

Some AI apps require you to enable Quok for each chat. Look for it in the app’s tools, connectors, or apps menu if the assistant says it cannot access Quok.

Disconnect an app

For Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, and other automatically registered clients, remove or disconnect Quok in that AI app.
For an app whose OAuth credentials you created in Quok, open Preferences → Connect an AI app → Connect your own app and choose Revoke. Its access and refresh tokens stop working immediately.
