Ask an AI assistant what the family is doing

Quok doesn’t ship its own chatbot. Instead, it plugs into the assistant you already use, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Home Assistant, so managing the family works wherever that assistant works. (Set it up first)

Things worth saying

Talk like you’d talk to your partner - the assistant translates it into calendar and list changes:

Calendar

  • “Add swimming for Zosia every Tuesday at 4pm starting next week.”
  • “What’s on this weekend?”
  • “Move Friday’s dentist appointment to 3:30.”
  • “Are we free on the 14th?”

Lists

  • “Add milk, butter, and 2 kg of flour to the groceries.”
  • “Put ‘book the cabin’ on the to-do list and note it’s urgent.”
  • “What’s still unchecked on the packing list?”
  • “Mark the flowers as bought.”

The good stuff - combinations

  • “Here’s the birthday party invitation email - put it on the calendar and add a gift to the shopping list.”
  • “School’s out June 26 to July 8 - clear that from my head: add it as an all-day event and start a packing list for the trip.”

Voice

In Claude or ChatGPT, open the assistant’s voice mode and say it: “add sunscreen to the shopping list.” Whatever the assistant does lands in Quok the same as a typed request.

Home Assistant needs its conversation agent and Assist pipeline configured first. Follow Connect Home Assistant to Quok for the complete setup.

How changes land

Everything the assistant creates is real Quok data, synced to the whole family instantly and recorded as done by you. It acts with exactly your permissions - nothing more (details). So a quick glance at the calendar after a complex request is good practice, and anything that landed slightly off you can fix in the app like any other event or item.

If the assistant can’t see Quok

  • Make sure Quok is still connected in the AI app. For manually registered OAuth apps, also check Preferences → Connect an AI app → Connect your own app in Quok.
  • In some AI apps, tools must be enabled per-conversation - check that the Quok connector is toggled on for the chat you’re in.
  • To reconnect, remove Quok from the AI app and set it up again. If you created OAuth credentials in Quok, revoke the old app before creating replacements.
