Create a shared list

Lists in Quok are shared by design: every list belongs to the family, and every member sees it. Add milk on your phone in the office; it’s on the kitchen computer before you’ve locked the screen.

The four list types

The type is set when the list is created and shapes what each item can hold - shopping items get amounts, tasks get due dates.

Your starter lists

Every new family comes with a default To-do list and a few shopping lists (including ones named after common stores) so you can start typing immediately. The default To-do and shopping lists can be renamed but not deleted - Quok uses them as the safe place for quick-added items.

Create a new list

Organizers and adults can create lists.

1. Open Lists (or Shopping, on mobile) and choose New list.

2. Give it a name - “Hardware store”, “Beach trip packing”.

3. Pick the type. This can’t be changed later, so choose shopping vs. to-do based on what the items need.

4. Save. The list appears for everyone in the family right away.

Rename or delete

Adults and organizers can rename any list, and delete any non-default list - deleting removes its items too, so Quok asks you to confirm. Kids and guests can see lists and check items off, but list management is an adult job. (Roles and permissions)
