Create your first event
The calendar is where your family’s week takes shape. Anyone with an adult or organizer role can add events for anyone; kids can add their own.
If you are deciding how the whole household should use it, start with our shared family calendar guide.
Add an event
Section titled “Add an event”-
Open Calendar and tap New event - or just tap the day it belongs on.
-
Give it a title and set when it starts. You can add an end time, or mark it all-day.
-
Pick an event type - appointment, activity, lesson, chore, meal, bill, birthday, anniversary, flight, or hotel. The type adds useful fields: an appointment can hold who it’s with and a phone number, a chore can carry points.
-
Fill in what’s useful: a location, notes, and who’s assigned - pick one or more family members and the event shows up as theirs.
-
Want a nudge before it starts? Add a reminder - at the time of the event, or 5 minutes to a week ahead. (How reminders work)
-
Save. The event appears on everyone’s calendar instantly.
Repeating events
Section titled “Repeating events”Swimming every Tuesday? Set a repeat rule when creating the event - weekly, monthly, whatever the rhythm is. Quok handles the rest, including editing just one occurrence later (here’s how).
Family or private?
Section titled “Family or private?”Events are visible to the whole family by default. Switch an event to private and only you, the people assigned to it, and the adults can see it - useful for surprise parties and doctor’s appointments. Providers (like a babysitter) only ever see events they’re assigned to.
Birthdays and anniversaries
Section titled “Birthdays and anniversaries”You usually don’t need to create these by hand. Add a birthday to a member’s profile, or an anniversary in family settings, and Quok puts it on the calendar every year automatically. To change one of these, edit the profile or anniversary - not the calendar entry.
