Subscribe in Google or Apple Calendar
Your family calendar doesn’t have to live only in Quok. With a calendar feed (part of Quok Plus), you can subscribe from Google Calendar or Apple Calendar and see shared family events right next to work meetings and everything else you already track there.
The feed is read-only: it shows titles, times and locations of shared events. To add or change events, you’ll still use Quok.
Get your feed link
Section titled “Get your feed link”-
Open Settings → Calendar feed in Quok (web or iPhone).
-
If the feed isn’t on yet, a family organizer taps Enable feed. Already enabled? The link is right there for everyone in the family.
-
Tap Copy to put the link on your clipboard.
Subscribe in Google Calendar
Section titled “Subscribe in Google Calendar”-
Open Google Calendar in a browser and click the gear icon → Settings.
-
In the left sidebar, choose Add calendar → From URL.
-
Paste your feed link and click Add calendar.
Your family events appear under “Other calendars”. Google refreshes subscribed feeds on its own schedule - typically every few hours - so a brand-new event may take a while to show up.
Subscribe in Apple Calendar
Section titled “Subscribe in Apple Calendar”On a Mac:
-
Open Calendar and choose File → New Calendar Subscription…
-
Paste your feed link and click Subscribe.
-
Pick a name, colour, and how often to auto-refresh, then click OK.
On an iPhone or iPad:
-
Go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other.
-
Tap Add Subscribed Calendar, paste your feed link, and tap Next → Save.
Resetting or turning off the feed
Section titled “Resetting or turning off the feed”Family organizers can manage the feed from the same settings screen:
- Reset link issues a fresh URL and stops the old one immediately. Every subscribed calendar then needs the new link - use this if the old one leaked.
- Disable feed turns the feed off entirely; subscribed calendars stop receiving events.
Events not showing up?
Section titled “Events not showing up?”- Subscribed calendars pull on their own schedule; Google can take a few hours between refreshes. On a Mac you can set the refresh interval when subscribing.
- Make sure the new calendar is ticked/visible in your calendar app’s sidebar or calendar list.
- If the family organizer recently reset the link, re-subscribe with the new one - the old link no longer works.
