Who can see and edit events
A family calendar works because everyone sees it - but a surprise party shouldn’t appear on the birthday kid’s screen. Quok handles both with one visibility switch and the role system.
Two visibility levels
Section titled “Two visibility levels”Every event is one or the other:
- Family members (the default) - everyone in the family sees it. Providers are the exception: a babysitter or tutor only ever sees events they’re assigned to, whatever the visibility.
- Participants and creator only (private) - visible to whoever created it, the people assigned to it, and the family’s adults. Kids and guests who aren’t assigned simply don’t see it.
Organizers and adults set an event’s visibility when creating or editing it. Use private for the surprise party, the doctor’s appointment, the gift-shopping trip.

In words: adults run the whole calendar; kids can add their own plans and change those; a provider can update the events that are theirs (shifting the tutoring session they’re running) and sees nothing else.

Beyond the family
Section titled “Beyond the family”Nobody outside the family sees your calendar - families are strictly isolated from one another. Two things can look “outside” but follow the same rules: the optional calendar feed shares only family-visible events with the calendars you subscribe (details), and a connected AI app sees exactly what the member who connected it can see (details).
