Accept a family calendar invitation
Someone added you to their family on Quok? There are three ways in, and they all end at the same place.
Scan the QR code
Section titled “Scan the QR code”Standing next to the person who invited you? This is the fastest way.

In the Quok app, choose Join a family on the welcome screen.

Tap Scan QR code and point your camera at the QR code on their screen.

Check who invited you and which family you’re joining, then tap Join family.
You can also scan the QR code with your phone’s own camera app - it opens Quok for you.
Type the code
Section titled “Type the code”Every invitation has a 6-character code. It’s on the inviter’s screen and in the invitation email. In the Quok app, choose Join a family, type the code under Enter your invite code, and confirm. Case doesn’t matter.
On the web, open the invitation link and you land on the same confirm step.
Tap the email link
Section titled “Tap the email link”-
Open the invitation email - the subject is “Join the family name family on Quok” - and tap the Join button.

Sign in. New to Quok? An account is created for you right there; you just confirm a sign-in link we email you. (How sign-in works)

Check the family and tap Join family. You land on the family dashboard with the role your inviter chose for you.
Any account works
Section titled “Any account works”You don’t need to sign in with the address the invitation was sent to. Signed up with Apple’s Hide My Email, or with a different address? That’s fine - the invitation joins whichever account you’re signed in with. The confirm step shows that account before you join.
Things that can trip you up
Section titled “Things that can trip you up”- “This code doesn’t work anymore” means the invitation expired, was cancelled, or was already used. Invitations expire after 7 days. Ask the person who invited you for a new one - it takes a few seconds.
- “Too many tries” appears after several codes in a short time. Wait for the countdown, then try again.
- “You’re already in a family” - a Quok account belongs to one family at a time. To accept, leave your current family first. (Remove a member or leave a family)
- Camera is off? Allow camera access in Settings, or tap Type the code - it works the same.
Don’t want to join?
Section titled “Don’t want to join?”There’s nothing you need to do - just ignore the invitation. It expires on its own after 7 days, and the sender can cancel it sooner. Nobody gets access to your email or anything else if you don’t act on it.
