Switch between multiple families

Everything in Quok lives inside a family - so which family you’re “in” decides what you see. Here’s how that works today.

Right now, Quok shows one family per account. When you sign in, you land in your family; there’s no switcher in the app yet. For most households that’s exactly right - one home, one calendar.

A proper family switcher - for people who genuinely belong to two households - is on the roadmap. Until it ships, the practical setups below work today.

Co-parenting across two homes: each home runs its own Quok family. A parent who’s part of both day-to-day uses one family as their main one, and can be added to the other household’s family with a second email address (a work address, or an alias like name+family2@gmail.com).

Grandparents or babysitters helping several families: each family invites them as a guest or provider. With one email they’ll have one family active; with an email per family, each stays independent. Providers only see events they’re assigned to, which keeps each household’s calendar private. (Roles and permissions)

Keeping an eye on both from one place: each family can turn on its calendar feed and everyone who needs the overview subscribes to both feeds in Google or Apple Calendar - both households’ shared events, side by side. (Subscribe in your calendar)

If you’ve been invited to a family but your account already has one, ask them to send the invitation to a different email address of yours - an invitation only works for the exact address it was sent to. Actually moving households (leaving one family for another)? Have an adult remove you from the old family first. (Remove a member or leave a family)
